Our festivities kick off in Downtown Canton with the Bicycle Decorating Contest at 9:30 am. Following that, is our fun-filled Watermelon Eating Contest at 10:00 am.
The highlight of the day, our annual 4th of July Parade, begins at 10:30 am. The parade route starts at the First Baptist Church of Canton, turns east on Hwy. 64 towards downtown, and then turns south onto Buffalo St., concluding at Canton Junior High. Enjoy your 4th of July day at First Monday Trade Days and then come out for to the West Gate at First Monday for a Car Show, Live Music and we will wrap it all up with a Firework Show happening after dark.

Roger Creager is coming to Canton, Texas. Live concert on the west side of the First Monday Trade Days grounds on July 3rd. $10 Parking.

ABOUT ROGER CREAGER
Roger Creager has been a staple in the Texas Country Music Scene for over 25 years. His dynamic stage presence earned him the title of 2001 Entertainer of the Year (Texas Music Awards) and 2015 Entertainer of the Year (CMA Texas). As an independent artist, Creager has sold over 250,000 albums and achieved thirteen #1 singles on the Texas Music Chart. Notably, he co-wrote George Strait’s “Sittin’ On the Fence” and has collaborated with industry greats like Cody Johnson, Kevin Fowler, Josh Abbott, Deryl Dodd, and Gary P. Nunn. In November 2023, Creager made his Grand Ole Opry debut, marking another milestone in his illustrious career.
An adventurist at heart, Creager does not like to sit still while the world passes by. Whether it's climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, running with the bulls in Spain, offshore fishing, or playing music through the Italian countryside, he seeks to get the most out of what the world has to offer. Derby Party, Celebrate a Southern Tradition
The Kentucky Derby represents 152 years of rich tradition, fascinating history, and the thrilling spirit that truly embodies the essence of the Kentucky Derby. Although we may find ourselves in Texas, we can still come together as a community to celebrate this cherished southern tradition. Let’s embrace the elegance that Derby Day brings and dress up in our finest Derby Best. Don’t forget to wear those fabulous hats—get ready for your close-up, as we capture memories while enjoying these delightful traditions! Of course, we can’t overlook the highlight of the day, which is the stunning 3-year-old Thoroughbreds. We will provide watercolor paper featuring beautifully pre-traced horses, so everyone can unleash their artistic talents. All the necessary supplies and refreshments will be readily provided for our enjoyment. This event is designed for moms, daughters, sisters, and friends to bond and have a great time together. All ages are more than welcome to join in the celebration!
